Saying the “new realities are stark,” a state official believes people “must act now” to deal with the recent coronavirus spike.
Department of Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm is urging people to stay home, and take other preventative steps, like wearing a mask and physical distancing.
She says the state was successful in flattening the curve in the spring, because everyone pitched in. Palm says people need to redouble their efforts to protect each other, and the health care system.
Palm is concerned about the record number of COVID-19 patients, at the same time the flu season is approaching.
