The Smashing Pumpkins announced that they will release their new double album, Cyr, on November 27th. The album will have 20 songs including “Cyr” and “The Colour of Love”, both of which were released at the end of August. The videos for those songs and the track listing for the upcoming album can be seen below. The band’s frontman Billy Corgan was in charge of production on the songs and said:
“’Cyr’ is dystopic folly. One soul against the world sort of stuff, set against a backdrop of shifting loyalties and sped up time. To me it stands as both hopeful and dismissive of what is and isn’t possible with faith.”
The Smashing Pumpkins also announced a new five-part animated series, In Ashes, written by Corgan, and features songs from Cyr. The first two episodes, “As The Crow Flies” and “Inspirations, Aspirations”, will be available on September 25th. The preview for the series can also be seen below.
