Hulu has gained the rights to and is already streaming both the classic ThunderCats series and its 2011 reboot. There are 130 episodes available to watch from the classic version and 26 from the reboot. The 2011 version was aiming for a 52 episode run, but only able to produce half of the shows before being cancelled in 2013.
In the original Thundercats, it follows the cat-humanoids as they flee their dying homeworld, Thundera, to a new planet called Third Earth. Lion-O is the leader of the Thundercats and he gets help from Tygra, Cheetara, Panthro, WilyKit, WilyKat and Snarf, as they defend the legendary Sword of Omens, which contains the Eye of Thundera stone that powers it, from the evil demon-priest Mumm-Ra and his minions.
In the reboot, the Thundercats live on Third Earth and fight against the Lizards and Mumm-Ra, who have destroyed the Thundercats kingdom and killed Lion-O and Tygra’s father King Claudus. This time, Lion-O and his allies must locate the ancient Book of Omens for information on how to defeat Mumm-Ra while looking for help from the other animal kingdoms on Third Earth.
