Nikki Sixx‘s Sixx:A.M. released an updated version of their song “Maybe It’s Time” with several special guests. Joining Nikki Sixx on the new version is Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour, Five Finger Death Punch vocalist Ivan Moody, Bad Wolves’ frontman Tommy Vext, Def Leppard vocalist Joe Elliot, guitarist Slash, and country artist Brantley Gilbert.
All the royalties from the song will be donated to Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation with Better Noise Music making a matching donation to the cause. Better Noise Music is the record label for Sixx:A.M., Five Finger Death Punch, Bad Wolves and more. Sixx said that he is proud that he could bring these artists together to help raise money for the Global Recovery Initiative Foundation.
“The opioid epidemic did not go away when the pandemic came along. Just the opposite…those in early recovery became even more at risk than before so it’s more important now than ever to raise awareness and support them. I really believe that united we can make a difference and save lives.”
Bad Wolves‘ Tommy Vext said:
“Alcoholism and drug addiction are family diseases. They’re the only diseases that everyone is mad at and hurt if you have it. People don’t get upset at you if you get cancer. It’s because with addiction, it affects everyone whose life touches the sufferer.”
Corey Taylor added:
“It’s a real issue… It’s affecting young people more and more every year, so it’s very, very important for all of us to pitch in and do our part, especially some of us who have lived through it…those of us who have survived… it’s the least I can do.”
The song will also be featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming Better Noise Films movie Sno Babies, which comes out on September 29th. The movie description says it “depicts the grim realities of teen-age addiction and its effects on a middle-class suburban town.” The trailer for the film can be seen below.
