Black Stone Cherry and Monster Truck hooked up during a series of Facebook livestreams and wrote the song “Love Become Law” for charity from scratch. By combing the two bands they are calling themselves The Cherry Truck Band.
All proceeds from this single will be split between two charities, chosen by the bands themselves, The Boys and Girls Club of America and Black Lives Matter Foundation.
In May, Black Stone Cherry started a streaming event called Cherry Chats to stay connected with fan. During one of those chats, they had Monster Truck on as a guest and they came up with the idea to write a song from scratch and have the fans help out in the process. After several weeks during multiple live streamed sessions they completed the task and came up with “Love Became Law.” The Cherry Chats with Monster Truck can be seen below.
Black Stone Cherry said that this would not have happened if it wasn’t for the pandemic and that it was incredibly exciting and fun. The also added that they are proud of the song and its meaning. They say the song is about uniting, being and living as one, and most importantly, loving each and every person that walks this planet.
