The music video for Linkin Park’s “In The End” has been viewed over one billion times on YouTube, making it one of the few rock or metal videos to reach that feat. It is the second time Linkin Park has reached the milestone. In 2018 “Numb” reached the one billion views.
“In The End” is off the band’s album Hybrid Theory and the music video for the song came out in 2000 but wasn’t uploaded to YouTube until 2009.
Back in 2012 Chester Bennington told V Music that he didn’t like the song when it was originally recorded:
“I didn’t even want it to be on the record, honestly. How wrong could I have possibly been? I basically decided at that point I don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about, so I leave that to other people who are actually talented at somehow picking songs that people are going to like the most … now I love ‘In The End’ and I think it’s such a great song.”
Back in March, the band was asking for the help of fans to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hybrid Theory. They said they were looking for photos, ticket stubs, videos, flyers, merch or anything else from that era of the band. It would be from the late 90’s until about 2002.
At the end of June, Grey Daze released their album Amends, which features some of the earliest work from Chester Bennington. Their latest song “Morei Sky”, which contains vocals from Bennington, can be heard below.
