The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have canceled their season for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Timber Rattlers President, Rob Zerjav said he is disappointed the news, but looks forward to the future.
“Although we are disappointed with today’s news that the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers season, along with the rest of the 2020 Minor League season, has been cancelled, we understand the reasoning and look forward to bringing back Timber Rattlers baseball in 2021. We will do our best to develop some additional ways to utilize the ballpark this summer and look forward to welcoming fans out in new and creative ways.”
Fans with tickets can find information on ticket policies for canceled games at the Timber Rattlers website. The Timber Rattlers have also said that staff will be reaching out to all season ticket holders over the next few days with more information regarding 2020 tickets.
The Timber Rattlers announced that the planned giveaways and promotions scheduled for 2020 will be moved to the 2021 season.
There will be some baseball at the Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. It was selected as the Alternate Training Site of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers’ “Taxi Squad” will practice there during the Major League season in case they are needed by the team. The Timber Ratters are unsure if fans will be allowed in to watch the practice, but they will announce it as soon as they find out.
The Fox Club and the Snake Pit Team Store will remain open. The team store is open Monday through Friday, while the Fox Club will open based on current CDC guidelines.
On July 3rd there will be a concert with music from Doozey followed by a super-sized fireworks show with music that will be simulcast on 105.7 WAPL. They also have another movie night set for Saturday, July 4th where they will show The Sandlot.
