COVID-19 could throw a wrench into the Oshkosh School District’s plans to consolidate some of its schools.
The district is looking at putting a $107 million referendum on the November ballot to fund the first phase of the long-term plan. Some members are concerned about the timing and the economic impact. Deputy Superintendent David Gunlach says the need for new schools is not going away. If approved, the November referendum would pay for the replacement of Merrill Middle School and Webster Stanley elementary while upgrading security throughout the district.
