While the statewide coronavirus numbers are looking better recently, a state expert warns there are hotspots in parts of Wisconsin that they’re concerned about.
Dr. Ryan Westergaard of the state Department of Health Services says if they’re not able to contain a localized hotspot, it can expand into a regional problem. He says they need to be aggressive in those communities, and especially if there are outbreaks in long-term care facilities and other group living situations.
Winnebago County is currently one of the places with a jump in cases. County health officials say they’re concerned about the number of young adults, between 20 and 29, testing positive.
