Shawn “Clown” Crahan is holding a mask designing competition where he wants you to “Take off your face. Create your own unique mask and send it to me. It can be executed from scratch, or by turning an already existing mask into your own piece of art.”
The Slipknot percussionist said the contest is ongoing with no specific end date and that he will show off his favorite ones and he will choose a few lucky contestants to be participate in a live chat while wearing their mask.

Shawn “Clown” Crahan has also said that the band will always wear the masks. He said that he couldn’t imagine taking off the mask because of laziness, or stress, or just not wanting to put it on anymore. He added that it is part of the deal when you are in Slipknot and he couldn’t fathom doing it any other way.
Singer Corey Taylor echoed Crahan’s comment on the band wearing the masks. Slipknot and masks have gone hand in hand since the beginning, with each member updating their masks with each album and tour.
Slipknot also announced another upcoming livestream show at knotfest.com. Last week Knotfest aired a past Slipknot concert along with shows from Underoath and Code Orange.
On June 5th, the will visit with Swedish metal staples In Flames. The 2018 headlining performance at Wacken Festival features a comprehensive collection of the band’s more than two decade deep catalog. The broadcast pairs with news of In Flames marking the the 20th anniversary of their seminal album, Clayman.
June 12th is set to feature a MAJOR unannounced festival event. Details are still to come.
June 19th will return stateside as Knotfest checks in with California Deathcore vets, Suicide Silence. The broadcast will feature the 2015 hometown set for the band’s Mental Health America Benefit Show. Frontman Eddie Hermida echoed excitement about the event. “While originally organized as a benefit for Mental Health America, we feel it’s necessary to repurpose this with an overall message of ‘Peace, Love & Respect’ as we stream this performance in its entirety for the first time ever in cooperation with the great folks at Knotfest.”
