Projections from the state revenue department show Wisconsin’s economy could start bouncing back in the third quarter of the year.
Income from wages is expected to fall by nine percent this year.
State Revenue Secretary Peter Barca thinks they’ll bounce back seven percent next year, and be back to pre-pandemic levels in 2022.
With the job market, it could take until the end of 2023 to get back to the pre-pandemic employment levels.
Barca stresses the projections don’t account for the potential of a second wave of coronavirus cases in the fall. He says that’s why it’s so important that people exercise great caution, to help prevent a resurgence.
