The body of a missing boater was found along the shoreline of Lake Butte des Morts.
Capt. Lara Vendola-Messer of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department says the 61-year-old Oshkosh man was fishing with another man, when their boat capsized during last night’s storm.
The 55-year-old boat owner was in the water with his dog for about three hours, and they were able to make it to shore, around 10:15 p.m. yesterday. She says someone living near the lake helped them.
Vendola-Messer says rescue crews started searching last night, and they were out again this morning. They found the boat this morning.
