Organizers of a potato growing program in Brown County are giving gardeners seed potatoes, while also helping local food pantries.
County Executive Troy Streckenbach helped hand out nearly 1,200 of them yesterday. He says people agree to donate half of their harvest to local food pantries.
He says there’s a big demand for fresh produce, and the potatoes will help.
People had to sign up for the program. The Packers and the Extension Community Garden are also involved.
