State health officials are concerned they’re seeing more people in hospitals with coronavirus.
Department of Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm says it’s not at a point where hospitals are implementing surge plans or feeling overwhelmed, but it’s something they’re watching.
State Dr. Ryan Westergaard says they’re still below the peak levels that hospitals saw in early May.
Right now, just over 400 COVID-19 patients are in hospitals around Wisconsin. About 250 more patients are waiting for test results.
The statewide hospitalization rate for confirmed cases is 14 percent.
