Governor Evers believes wearing a mask is one of the most important things people can do, when they’re out in public.
He says it shouldn’t be a political statement, and it’s not controversial. He believes it’s a simple and necessary commitment to the common good that everyone should be willing to make.
Evers says he puts on a mask when he’s in public, and he’s walking in or out of the Capitol.
He says he’s concerned some people aren’t wearing them.
State Dr. Ryan Westergaard of the Department of Health Services says masks reduce the number of respiratory droplets that get into the environment. People can get coronavirus through those droplets.
