Before coronavirus patients started showing up at hospitals in northeast Wisconsin, the president of ThedaCare says they were planning for the possibilities.
Dr. Imran Andrabi says they have designated areas for patients, and negative-pressure rooms in their Intensive Care Units. He says they also put together a “surge plan,” so they can triple the number of beds for COVID-19 patients, if they’ll ever need them.
The state Department of Health Services reports nearly 30 people with confirmed cases are currently in hospitals in the northeast region.
