Seventeen people in Wisconsin are filing a federal lawsuit in Milwaukee, arguing local “safer at home” orders are unconstitutional.
The challenge names 21 state and local public safety and health officials, including some in northeast Wisconsin. A number of counties and cities put local orders in place last week, after the state Supreme Court threw out the governor’s extension of the statewide rules.
One of the filers was an organizer of a “reopen Wisconsin” protest at the state Capitol.
