Governor Evers will provide $100 million in federal stimulus money to long-term care facilities and Emergency Medical Service providers.
He says the response to COVID-19 is placing a significant burden on them. He also recognizes the important role they have in protecting the health and safety of some of the most vulnerable people in Wisconsin.
Evers says they’ve had to buy personal protective equipment, and spend more money to retain workers.
The state plans to hand out the funding in two phases, first to support immediate needs. The second part would be targeted toward individual providers.
