The state’s crime labs are taking longer to test evidence for DNA.
Attorney General Josh Kaul released a report that shows it took an average of 97 days last year. That’s up from 80 days in 2018, and 76 in 2017.
When Kaul ran for the office, he criticized the wait under former Republican A.G. Brad Schimel. The report shows that Kaul hasn’t been able to speed up the process so far.
