The state is now releasing information on active coronavirus investigations at nursing homes and long-term care facilities.
There are currently three in the region — St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna, Grancare Nursing Care in Green Bay, and the Odd Fellow Home in Green Bay.
Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk of the Department of Health Services says it’s an unprecedented time where family members aren’t allowed into facilities for the protection of their loved ones. She says they want to be transparent about where they could be disease.
Willems Van Dijk believes in most cases, family members know about the investigation, because the facility already contacted them.
The state will remove the name of a facility, when an investigation is over.
There have been three investigations at long-term care facilities in Outagamie County, 14 in Brown, and one each in Calumet and Fond du Lac.
