It was different Mother’s Day because of the “safer at home” rules, but many families still found ways to celebrate.
Bob Aykens of Memorial Florists and Greenhouses in Appleton says the holiday is usually their biggest of the year. He says normally, they about 900 deliveries. This year, they were up to 1,500.
Aykens says it’s his favorite holiday, because dads come in with their kids to pick out something for mom.
Plenty of restaurants and bars had special takeout meals for the holiday.
At Dairyland Brew Pub in Appleton, owner Dorri Schmidt was helping cook. She’s also a mom, and she wanted to make sure they could relax on their special day.
