An expert with the DNR says people shouldn’t just pick up baby animals.
Wildlife Biologist Jeff Pritzl says mothers often leave them alone for many hours for safety reasons.
He says every year, thousands are picked up and brought to rehab centers. But because of the pandemic, those places have limited hours and fewer staff.
Pritzl thinks people should call a local rehab center, before dropping off an animal.
