The leader of the state Supreme Court is coming under fire from some people for a comment during yesterday’s arguments over the state’s “safer at home” order.
Chief Justice Pat Roggensack was questioning Assistant Attorney General Colin Roth. Roth raised concerns about having to wait two weeks to make rules, and how that could impact outbreaks, like the one in Brown County.
Roggensack responded by saying, “That was due to the meatpacking, though. That’s where Brown County got the flare. It just wasn’t just the regular folks in Brown County.”
Democratic Sen. Dave Hansen of Green Bay believes the comment is as dangerous as it is insulting. He thinks she’s not fit to serve on the Supreme Court and she should at least recuse herself from any decisions on the “safer at home” order.
