About 1,500 elementary school students in the Appleton district are using one of the district’s laptops.
Superintendent Judy Baseman says they don’t have a Chromebook for every student at the elementary level, but they have ones that they can share. She says they had enough to get them to every child without the technology at home.
The district also worked to make sure all K-12 students could get online. Baseman reports they delivered more than 410 hotspots to families that don’t have internet access.
Baseman says those two steps helped make sure there’s equity between all of the families in the district. She credits the facilities and operations staff for getting the technology into the hands of students.
