A medical expert says he supports the move by JBS to temporarily close its meatpacking plant on Green Bay’s east side.
Dr. Ashok Rai of Prevea Health tells Action 2 News the company might have been having a hard time running the plant anyway with so many people out sick.
Brown County Public Health reports 255 JBS workers have tested positive for coronavirus. More than 1,200 people work at the plant.
JBS has also temporarily closed three other plants in the U.S.
One-hundred-thirty workers at American Foods Group in Green Bay also caught COVID-19, and 17 have it at Salm Partners in Denmark.
