The JBS meat plant in Green Bay is shutting down, while the number of workers with coronavirus continues to climb.
Brown County Public Health is reporting 255 employees tested positive.
The department’s Claire Paprocki says JBS decided to voluntarily close, but the county has the authority to force the company’s hand. She says the county could’ve considered that, if nothing had been done over the weekend.
Paprocki hopes the number of new cases will go down, now that the plant is closed.
She’s reporting another 130 cases among workers at American Foods Group in Green Bay. Seventeen employees at Salm Partners in Denmark have the virus.
