The union representing UW-Oshkosh faculty will push for some changes to a plan requiring furloughs in the next academic year.
Chancellor Andrew Leavitt wants all instructors to take an unspecified number of unpaid days off, starting next fall.
The American Federation of Teachers local union thinks professors making more money should take more days off. The union argues that faculty making $40,000 a year can’t afford to take pay cuts, while those earning up to $200,000 could better handle the loss of income.
