A Boy Scout troop in Appleton is organizing an online food drive to take the place of an annual event.
The Scouting for Food pickup was scheduled for this weekend, but it’s being postponed until the fall.
Members of Troop 73 came up with the idea. Scout Max Harvick says it’s great to be able to help people in need, so they’re pleased they were able to shift to an online drive.
Troop 73 usually donates about 13,000 pounds of food to the St. Joseph Food program in Menasha every year.
There’s a list of the pantries on the Bay-Lakes Council of the Boy Scouts website.
