Vinnie Paul’s longtime girlfriend, Chelsey Yeager, revealed that his cookbook will finally be released. She said that Drumming Up An Appetite With Vinnie Paul is in the works and will include 120 recipes, along with pictures. No date has been scheduled for its release.
Vinnie Paul had been talking about the cookbook for years before his death. In 2010 he even had an idea for the cover.
“It’s got a picture of me sitting behind the drum set. I’m holding two big, old turkey legs; those are otherwise known as drumsticks.”
In 2016, Vinnie Paul said the cookbook consists of:
“A lot of really cool recipes that I came up with on my own; a lot of them my mom taught me when I was growing up; and just a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor, and it’s just a lot of fun. It’s not real serious.”
He added:
“A lot of people think cooking is throwing something in the microwave. It’s really not. There’s a passion to it. It’s like playing music. If you love doing it, you really put everything you’ve got into it and want it to be special, and that’s what we do.”
If you are looking for a jalapeño popper recipe, Vinnie made some for his Hellyeah bandmates and crew back in 2010. The video can be seen below.
Vinnie Paul died in 2018 from natural causes in his Las Vegas home. The coroner said that he had dilated cardiomyopathy (an enlarged heart) as well as severe coronary artery disease.
Last August, Hellyeah and Nonpoint were in Green Bay for the “Celebration of Vinnie Paul” tour.
Cutter talked to Chad Gray of HellYeah during the “Celebration of Vinnie Paul” tour in Green Bay. They discussed Vinnie Paul and the band’s new album Welcome Home, which Vinnie Paul recorded drums for before his death.
Hellyeah is scheduled to be at Ford Festival Park on July 17th, the second day of Rock USA 2020.
