Papa Roach guitarist Jerry Horton had surgery on his left hand in February after breaking two fingers. Horton has now posted an update on his Twitter account saying that he has a limited ranged of mobility, adding:
“I have a long way to go to get back to the way I was.”
I still have limited range of mobility, but it’s getting better. I really didn’t think it would take me this long to get back into fighting shape. I have a long way to go to get back to the way I was, but I’m glad my fingers are stuck in the bend position instead of straight. pic.twitter.com/GnduOc4MYz

Eight pins were put into his fingers and he was temporary replaced on their European tour. Horton insisted that the tour had to happen and said they needed to find somebody to replace him. That somebody ended up being Anthony Esperance, the brother of Papa Roach bassist Tobin Esperance.
Papa Roach singer Jacoby Shaddix said he understands how scary this can be for a guitarist and that he has had similar scares during his career when he had surgery on his vocal chords. Shaddix also said that Horton showed up to their show in Munich, Germany and hung out with them for a week. He didn’t tell anyone he was coming and surprised the band.
At the end of March, Papa Roach released a new video for their song “Top of the World”.
Papa Roach spent the last year touring after they released their tenth studio album, Who Do You Trust? in January 2019. Last Month the band confirmed that they have plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Infest.
