A state lawmaker says three large tubs of absentee ballots for voters in Appleton and Oshkosh were found by a postal worker.
Republican Sen. Dan Feyen of Fond du Lac believes they were never delivered, after voters requested them weeks ago. He thinks people should be able to use them, and have their vote count.
There were reports over the past several days of voters not receiving their absentee ballots.
Wisconsin Elections Commission Administrator Meagan Wolfe says they’re looking for more information about the discovery. She says they’re trying to figure out if the ballots were heading to voters, or if voters were returning them.
Wolfe says a postal worker called the commission about the situation today. Feyen says the tubs were at a regional sorting facility in Milwaukee.
If they’re the missing ballots, Feyen wants the commission to ask the courts to let people use them.
