The scenes at polling places around the state are ones that voters in Wisconsin have never witnessed before.
Wisconsin Counties Association Director Mark O’Connell says clerks set things up try to keep voters and poll workers safe during a pandemic.
He feels everyone can help by being patient and remaining calm.
In communities where there aren’t enough poll workers, Wisconsin National Guard members are taking their places. They’re not in uniform.
There aren’t any reports of big issues at Appleton polling places today.
City spokesman Chad Doran says most people seem to be following the social distancing guidelines, at least from what they’ve heard.
All of Appleton’s regular polling places are open today. Mayor Tim Hanna believes that will lead to fewer, and shorter lines.
