The Community Blood Center in Grand Chute is looking for recovered coronavirus patients to donate plasma to help new cases.
Dr. Todd Strauss is the chief medical officer, and he tells Fresh Take that people develop antibodies after they’ve had COVID-19. He says they hope the antibodies will help fight the coronavirus infection.
Strauss says hospitals plan to give the plasma to patients while they’re on a ventilator, or before they get to that point.
He stresses people need to fully recover from the virus before they’ll be allowed in their clinics.
