The latest models on the spread of coronavirus in Wisconsin are more promising than in the middle of March.
Dr. Ryan Westergaard of the state Department of Health Services says the state was on a trend that’s similar to what happened in New York City and Italy. He says the number of Wisconsin cases were doubling every two or three days, during the first half of March.
That changed, in the second half. He says while they were still been doubling every four to five days, it shows the early orders that the state took, did have an impact.
Those earlier steps including limiting the size of gatherings, and encouraging better handwashing and hygiene.
The “safer at home” order has been in place for a little more than a week. Westergaard has said they likely won’t see the statistical impact of those rules for at least another week.
