Brown County Jail administrations are lowering the population to prepare for potential coronavirus cases.
Lt. Scott Brisbane says they moved dozens of Huber inmates to electronic monitoring. The jail population is now at about 76 percent capacity. That’s down from around 90 percent last week.
Brisbane says that gives them space to put inmates in quarantine, if they test positive.
He says the state also put a moratorium on new inmates at state prisons, and that order is increasing their population by 28.
Brisbane says they check the temperatures of new inmates, before they’re booked into the jail.
