The state is changing some rules for nurses during the coronavirus pandemic.
Retired nurses, soon-to-graduate nursing students, and others that left for another job can now work.
The executive order from Governor Evers comes after the state Board of Nursing recommended similar changes.
Sen. Rob Cowles of Allouez says they need to do something to help hospitals and nursing homes. He says they were already dealing with shortages, and coronavirus is making the situation worse.
The governor’s order also covers physician assistants.
