Governor Evers wants state lawmakers to agree to mail absentee ballots to every registered voter in the state.
He believes it’s crucial to keep people safe on election day.
He says it’s going to be difficult, but they’ll get through it, and get the ballots and envelopes to communities as quickly as they can.
Evers says the Legislature would need to change state law to mail the ballots to everyone, and he’s calling on Majority Republicans to take action quickly.
He also wants to make sure ballots are counted if they’re postmarked on April 7th, and that clerks have extra time to count the ballots.
