Oshkosh leaders are working on ways to provide up to $1 million to help local businesses impacted by the shutdowns.
The city is working with Winnebago County and the Greater Oshkosh Economic Development Corporation to create a $500,000 revolving loan fund.
Another $500,000 could come from a TIF district, covering the 100 block of N. Main Street. That money could go to businesses in that area.
City Manager Mark Rohloff says they just want to keep those businesses afloat. He says it wouldn’t be a lot of money, but something to help keep them going.
The Oshkosh Common Council would have to agree to create the revolving loan fund, and use the TIF money. The city could hold a special meeting in the next two weeks.
