The top Republicans in the Legislature say they’re OK with the move by Governor Evers to issue a “safer at home” order.
But Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says he wishes the governor would’ve been more specific on what businesses are considered “essential services.” He believes there are still unanswered questions about what businesses need to be closed, and that’s more frustrating than anything.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald thinks GOP leaders should’ve been brought into the loop on the order sooner.
He also believes that decisions on loosening restrictions can’t be made based on dates, but rather where things stand trying to stop the spread of coronavirus.
