A state doctor thinks there likely are quite a few more actual COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin than the confirmed total.
Dr. Ryan Westergaard of the Department of Health Services says research shows every person that gets it, passes it on to two or three people.
Westergaard says typically, researchers have been seeing cases double in six days. But in some cities in the U.S., they’ve doubled in two or three days.
Westergaard expects the numbers will continue to increase for the next couple of weeks. That’s because any orders to limit in-person contact aren’t expected to have an immediate impact on case totals, until a couple of weeks later.
