The Appleton city council is standing behind the Hmong community, while there’s some uncertainty about some refugees.
Members voted unanimously last night to oppose any efforts by the Trump administration to remove them from the U.S.
Ald. Cathy Spears says it’s one thing for the city to officially go on the record, but she believes the community needs to help too. She’s urging people to write or call federal lawmakers, to let them know that it would be unacceptable.
The Oshkosh council and Outagamie County board also went on record, supporting the Hmong community.
