Some people around Appleton wore pink yesterday to remember a three-year-old girl, and support her family and friends.
Zyana Corbin was murdered late last month, and her funeral was yesterday.
Jillian Campbell of Sheer Chaos in the downtown was sporting pink. She says there’s so much sadness that happens and just the little things of wearing pink just to show the family that they’re not alone, that they can reach out. She says even though they don’t know them personally, they do care.
Appleton Police Chief Todd Thomas came up with the idea, after reading in the girl’s obituary that she loved pink.
The lights at the police department, Houdini Plaza, and the Fox Cities Exhibition Center are going to be pink for several days.
