The Oshkosh Area United Way raised a little more than $1.5 million during its annual campaign.
That’s a record, but it’s short of the goal of $1.6 million.
Executive Director Mary Ann Dilling says it’s encouraging they’re going in the right direction, because they were flat for about 10 years, at $1.2 million. Last year, they got to $1.3 million.
Dilling says they’d still need more than $1.6 million to make the necessary impacts on the Oshkosh community.
The money will go to 37 different programs. The United Way is targeting three areas — early childhood development, mental health, and eliminating barriers to careers.
