Prosecutors are charging a 15-year-old Green Bay girl with murder for the death of her infant nephew in a house fire last June.
Marcelia Fonseca is facing counts of first-degree intentional homicide and arson.
Brown County prosecutors accuse her of starting a fire in a metal wire cart near the baby’s playpen. The 11-month-old child had severe burns, and others in the house were treated for burns and smoke inhalation.
They say the girl admitted to setting fires in other homes where she lived. They say she told them when she was six, she tried to kill her sister by putting a pillow over the girl’s head.
Fonseca is in custody on a $250,000 bond.
