The Appleton area now has a direct link through the air to Nashville.
Allegiant Air is adding the flight, and the first plane left Appleton International Airport this afternoon.
Airport Director Abe Weber believes there’s a lot of excitement, because Nashville is a growing tourism spot.
The Allegiant flights run on Mondays and Fridays. Weber says that gives people a chance to take a long weekend in Nashville, or spend more time there.
Many past Mile of Music artists are based in Nashville, and Weber says the flight will make it easier for them to come back to Appleton.
