Two of the top lawmakers in the Assembly are looking forward to working on proposals to help farmers in the state.
Governor Evers called a special session on a series of bills last month.
Republican Majority Leader Jim Steineke of Vandenbroek believes there are a couple of things they can work with. He wants to find ways to put money right back into the pockets of farmers, and not add more bureaucrats in Madison.
Democratic Minority Leader Gordon Hintz of Oshkosh says some of those positions were cut at the UW-Extension, and they work locally to help farmers.
Hintz says there isn’t a magic wand to solve the issues farmers are facing.
The two lawmakers were on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY.
