A new low-income housing development is proposed for the south side of Oshkosh.
The apartments would be built in the 700 block of S. Main Street.
Economic Development Services Manager Kelly Nieforth says the current market rental rates aren’t much higher than the low-income threshold. She says working-class people would live there, including teachers and firefighters.
She says it will be a nice-looking building with underground parking.
Before they can start building the apartments, the developers will need to receive low-income housing tax credits from the state.
