A fire at an apartment complex on Mother’s Day is leading to criminal charges against an Oshkosh woman.
Prosecutors believe 26-year-old Cassandra Choy intentionally started the fire in the garages that are next to her ex-boyfriend’s apartment building in Omro. They say they got into an argument, after they were supposed to spend the holiday together with their children.
Police Lt. Joe Benoit says some kids were playing soccer by the garages, and they were in the line of danger because the fire spread quickly.
Choy is facing charges of second-degree reckless endangerment and arson.
Prosecutors say Choy admitted to starting a box on fire, but she poured water on it, and thought it was out.
