Ghost are set to release their deluxe edition of Prequelle on September 27th and it includes some new music. Today, we get our first taste of the song “Kiss the Go-Goat” with an hilarious video (watch above).
The original plan was not to release a deluxe album but after the original artwork for Prequelle was delayed, frontman & mastermind Tobias Forge decided not to delay the original release, but instead have a deluxe edition once the artwork was ready. In an interview with Cutter and Kaytie, you can hear Tobias explain what happened:
“It will be uh… Long story short, and I hate to break it to ya, but as many fans might have noticed, there were things missing that we would usually include in our record and that was actually not intentional. but there was a snafu on the artwork department and everything got delayed to a point where the whole record was about to basically get, not canceled, but definitely delayed. “
He continued:
“There was no real… the deadlines were ignored by the art department and um we ended up having to make the decision that ‘lets release the record without all the artwork’ because otherwise the whole tour and the whole release will be completely effed up and if we ever get the rest of the artwork, we’ll make a new decision then. And the half a year later we got the rest of the artwork and we decided to yeah okay so lets re-release the record, put some goodies in there and yeah, so that’s what’s about to come out.”
Another new song called “Mary On A Cross” is also expected on Prequelle Exalted. You can see Ghost with Nothing More at the Resch Center on October 7th!
