Plans for an outdoor expansion at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley in downtown Appleton are progressing.
The city council is agreeing to turn over part of Locust Street for the project. The final approval to close the road is expected to come in October.
Greg Lemke-Rochon is the CEO. He hopes the renovations can start in October and plans to finish it by the summer of next year.
He says they’re planning to build a basketball court, playground, and teen fitness area on what is now the street and land that’s across the street. Locust Street would be closed at an alley that runs along the north side of the club.
